i'm not hearing things!! i quite sure i heard the formula one cars' engines from my mum's room even with the windows closed!heh..shows i not only have huge supersonic ears but also how "centralised" i am..hur..to the track that is..wonder how ppl staying near the event are holding up..will they haave to wear ear plugs at home too?

darn if only mum had accepted those f one tics.not into it but wld be cool to go kpo abit isnt it?

oh well..been stuck with ever mounting work..coopied up at home since tues but i'm so looking fwd to taking a break or rather retail therapy tmr!long time no go vivo!!not done with work and havent started on the 2 full lab rpts due mon but still i'm going out to BREATHE~

leaving switz! start of 7 hr journey to paris

home sweeeeeet home!back to endless pounding n construction din. finally gave fifi her first shampoo bath and cuddle my cats! and yess..i miss the humidity cos the cold was drying me to bones!here's my very belated post..been snoozing alot...my excuse's jet lag-ness (to a certain degree it is okay) half of the recess week gone = i'm so dead. gonna be less lor sor and let the pictures do the talking..hopefully..

friday:took the metro in paris for the first time. explored galaries lafayette and printemp, met mum there for lunch after her mtg. while she left for another mtg i found my way to rue de rivoli. met them for the river cruise dinner. nice ambience, imagine us scooting up to the viewing level above in btw courses to take pics with the eiffel notre dame etc... and u sure bet only the singaporeans were that kaisu to run up and down.no time to go up eiffel cos dinner ended at 11!

saturday: end of study trip for the ppl. so some of the gals followed me and my mum ard to shop. they asked me to be their guide.. hur..wat the peh.. went back to champs elysee, rue de passy and galaries lafayette which closed at 8 pm!!! ARGH~~ and they close on SUNDAYS CAN..imagine takashimaya being closed for ONE DAY A WEEK.. it's the mall in paris and can afford to close..actaully most of the shops were closed on sundays except touristy places. had one of the best french onion soup ever and i firmly declined the escagots and foie gras.. yucks..

sunday: champs elysee..shops closed.. so went to lourve musuem. on the way to the metro.. walked to point neuf and accidentally chanced upon the latin quarters (i think). kinda hippy place.. then rushed down to eiffel b4 it turned dark..happy. satisfied.. thank goodness we ran (someother ppl were running too and it was so windy!) cos within 10 mins or so it turned dark. backto hotel to pack!!

monday: abt to check out at the reception when we met mr H who also extended and just rented at audi tt for 800 sing a day!! omgosh..i could have driven it around and really not come back to singapore ( accident la..hur) darn no time to cos cab was here to take us to airport.. tmd..my hotel's back lane had some ah black community..quite scary actually to be so close to their homeground. oh but this hotel's location quite gd that's why we didn't move. quai de la gare train station just across the street. their metro system similar to singapore just more extensive.. and the trains that go out of paris centre are double storeys! and last thing.. their trains' door not auto lo.. gotta open yrself.. a st bernard dog came in which got my mum excited.. hah.. and musicians come on board to play to get $$. cool rite? free music.. no need ipod..hah

-alot of ppl smoke thr man.. i can hardly breathe!!

-i was in galaries when this china man in a suit asked me if i was from china and whether i understood chinese. argh.. he wanted me to translate sth to the salegal. after which he said my chinese v good.. ... ... ...wahahah

-OMG.. HOW CAN I NOT SAY THIS...girls n guys share same toilet in some of the department store toilets can... SO SO SO DAMN AWKWARD TO SEE GUYS IN THE TOILET!!!!!!!! oh ya zara's changing room also can..but not so bad comapred to toilets!!

-sth lame.. while waiting to be ushered into the cruise and deciding on our orders.. some one in the group misheard foie gras for viagra... then he said out loud.. "hmm.. it viagra's entree i wonder wat's the main course" ... ... ...

-btw quite amazed i survived below 10 deg temps with onli my "killed-a-polar-bear" jacket, 2 cardis n 1 jeans (didn't even manage to wear shorts i brought) for like 6 days till i got my trench and scarfs..so unprepared, but always STRONG!!muahaha

-ph ya..how can i not rave abt paris's architecture etc..nicer than frankfurt..sounds cliche but it's really THE place to propose to anyone. comfirm chop guarantee say yes one..hahah..jk..or at least take wedding pics? ok if not i wld love to go backpack thr again.. :]

-last,somehow i wonder since there's so much vadanlism ard..how come i don't see any of these monuments being vandalised?must be like wat missy elliot wld say.. R-E-S-P-E-C-T me.. hur.

wednesday

-switz:checked out and managed to walk down one street only with the secretary. the wind is killing me~waited for the rest to finish up their mtg and head over to the shops to get chocs. everyone just chiong-ed for it.. only had 30 mins to shop. after which we left for our long road trip to paris.

-the bus driver has lotsa regulations set by the company i think..or german law.. eg: every 3 hrs have to break 30mins. after whole day of driving have to rest for 11 hrs..can't start at 830 if not can't meet the 11 hrs.. they have some chip on them so if they break the law will be fined 300 euros. and he's very nice he tried his best many times to meet our demands which mean pushing his boundaries. he doesn't speed too..cruises at 70 or 80km? very good driver.. msian bus drivers shd adopt this system.

thursday

-checked in to paris hotel at 1130 pm. everyone's tired. the hotel is erm.. cosy and classique or antique shall i say? horrendous actually.. so small and old for it's price.. but this is paris i guess..nothing's cheap.. and think we're extending 2 days here since the metro is just across the street :)

-woke up bright and early and everyone's excited to head over to champ elysees LV outlet. largest i tink.. the guys really surprise me..they said they dun have anything to buy..but in the end end up buying bags for their wives.. so sweet right. the jet li lookalike was clueless wat to get so bought TWO HANGBAGS for his wife.. omgosh..can i just be his maria or sth? maybe i get a purse?? sigh~ i need to find someone like jet li lookalike~ the others had shopping lists to buy for frens. i didn't get the neverfull cos the damier was only avail in japan.. no wonder i've not heard of damier nvfull too.. got 3 wallets. 1 for my friend and both for me cos i can't decide.. now i can't decide which to use..hur.. and btw not enough time can! only had 30 mins in lv cos they had to rush off to another mtg.. gosh! traffic is horrendous..their lanes don't have demarcations.. and they have lotsa of circles so imagine how they do it.. oh ya their parallel parking must be damn zhai.. they dun pull hand brake so that another car can squeeze in and nudge the car in front or behind to move a lil..hah..hardly see any SUVs etc.. all small cars..

-headed over for lunch at the mtg place..nice food! (upload when i get the pics from jet li)

-decided to head to avenue montaigne and back to champ elysee for more shopping with one of the gals. we walked instead of figuring out the metro. got lost and ended up near eiffel.. and by the time we reached elysee only went to 3 shops i tink and had to go back meet them. i desperately need a coat to go up eiffel ltr tonight. decided to get the cream trench i saw from germany's zara but they had no stock here. hai.. so got a temporary pullover first.i saw DISNEY SHOP!! can't wait to go get my marie!!!

-took cab back to the office and left for another IT company then headed to a sumptious dinner!

traffic was terrible, dinner started at 9 and by the time it was over.. the smu adjunct said " ai kun liao". zzzzzzzz

last dinner in germany! pork fillet again! looking abs shitty.. recog anyone??

7am to 12 midnight on the road.. zzzzzzzzz

i'm finally in switzerland!! but just for a night :( been travelling the whole day(~6 hrs bus ride with stop overs at some factory pl and ibm) just checked in at 12 am.our suite's amazing and i even have my own toilet with tub! this place is so high tech, which i find quite uneccessary, makes me feel more like an idiot trying to figure how to switch on a light and even press the elevator. well, the elevator works like this. key in yr room number and swipe yr key card across. hmm...all this just to take a bloody lift. and when we come the tv screen says welcome XXXX blah blah blah..there's already piped in music through out the hall room n toilets, can't even figure out how to switch off air con hence explains why i'm in the oversized bath robe now. even the blinds on the exterior of the ceiling to floor windows are remote controlled!love the natural light that comes in thru the wall-ess windows..i can see cathedrals from here and like half of swit from here..hah..jk..

it's already 22oam now after i had my hot bath while reading jodi picoult's book "my sister's keeper". today felt even colder.. prob 10-12 deg? am not quite sure~

gosh have to mention the new ppl who joined us today.. so n so MD of microsoft and MP intro-ed herself to me and handed me her name card. gosh.. she prob tot i was a staff or sth? but she's nice anyway..entertaining to hear her stories. and so n so, brigade general (BG dont even noe how to spell) currently deputy director of dsta etc etc realised one of the guys look like jet lee, rounder version only.

we had a stopover at some food joint. the toilet was amusing. after u flush, sensor i tink..can't rem.. the seat actually ROTATES CAN!! and there's this thing that wipes the seat while it rotates! imagine an oval shaped PLASTICKY seat losing it's shape and rotating..so cute rite! i flushed it twice to watch it in action again :]

and guess what, yest whn i ordered for room svc to bring my cutlery, they charged me 8 sing dollars to the room. omg.. wat the peh, i could have bought a set of it myself for that amt of money.. was too lazy to go down get la.. heh..
